Kitemark PAS 125 Scheme – Approved Accident Repair Centres
Crash Repair Centres (Bodyshops): Repairing modern cars is extremely challenging. Due to the complex designs, the advancement in high strength metals and the complicated way in which cars are built. It requires competently trained technicians, specialist equipment and an understanding of vehicle technology in order to repair a modern vehicle. It is therefore important that when you are having your vehicle repaired that it is repaired by an Accident Repair Centre that is capable of repairing your vehicle to the vehicle manufacturer’s standard of repair and it is repaired properly and safely. Not all bodyshops have the required experience to repair modern, mass produced vehicles. The Thatcham BSI Kitemark® PAS 125 scheme for vehicle body repair aims to give consumers, insurance companies and businesses a clear sign that those companies that have achieved the standard are repairing vehicles in the right way.
You should look out for the B.S.I. Kitemark which identifies a PAS 125
Approved bodyshop.

What is the Kitemark?
PAS 125
is the industry agreed technical specification for the process of
vehicle body repair. It provides body-shops the processes and procedures
directly related to the safe repair of accident damaged vehicles. PAS 125
details minimum requirements for competent personnel, appropriate and
well-maintained equipment, suitable repair methods and quality for
repair materials. The PAS
125 focuses on the four key elements of repair – methods, people,
equipment and materials, as well as repair process management, with an
emphasis on continual improvement. As a result, PAS 125 directs
body-shops to the achievement of a safe and technically sound repair. M & M
Vehicle Repairs are
audited by BSi twice each year without warning. The inspection focuses
on five key elements of the process. Is the technician correctly trained
and skilled? Is the correct repair technique being used? Incorrect
repair methods could seriously compromise vehicle strength and occupant
safety in the event of another crash. Are materials of the correct
quality and specification being used? Use of substandard parts and
materials will change the crash performance of your vehicle. Are the
appropriate tools being used and are they correctly maintained? Finally
is there a management system to ensure consistent quality and safe
repairs? M & M
Vehicle Repairs is committed to quality safe repairs. We return vehicles
to their pre-accident condition and as such in the event of another
accident your vehicle will perform according to the manufacturers’
safety standards keeping you and your passengers safe.
Be sure to have your vehicle repaired at a PAS 125
Kitemark Approved Bodyshop.
